The European Network for Sustainable Quarrying and Mining will be officially launched with the very first national workshop taking place in Spain. The project is led by a coalition of partners (Eurogypsum, Cembureau, UEPG, IMA-Europe, EuSalt, EFG, and national associations).
The aim of the Network is to promote constructive multi-stakeholder dialogue, at national level, to achieve sustainable extraction activities across the EU. Representatives from the government, NGOs, industry, and standardisation agencies will exchange views and good practices for the conciliation of raw materials production and environmental protection and enhancement.
Germany will follow with a workshop to be organised in autumn 2017.
