EPCC Saline royale - Grande rue – 25 610 Arc-et-Senans
Terra Salina International Symposium will take place on the 5 and 6 April 2018 in the Royal Saltworks of Arc-et-Senans (France).
Terra Salina promotes the historical salt routes in France & Switzerland, and has an exceptional natural environment and heritage, bringing together 7 UNESCO World Heritage sites, 5 spa towns, and 4 salt industry towns. The seven structures got together to develop and value the heritage over two Departments in France and 5 Cantons in Switzerland.
Includes four historical sites where salt was produced or where its history is told: the Mines of Bex (Switzerland), the Arc-et-Senans Royal Saltworks (in the Doubs region), the Great Saltworks of Salins-les-Bains (in the Jura region) and the Roman salt transportation tracks of Vuiteboeuf (Switzerland). There are three cities with thermal centres: Yverdon-les-Bains (Switzerland), Salins-les-Bains and Lons-le-Saunier (Jura) and seven sites that are on the UNESCO World Heritage list. (More information about Terra Salina salt history sites http://www.terrasalina.eu/saunier-en.html)
Recognised as a project uniting all of the aforementioned over the borders, Terra Salina was granted financial support from the European Commission, initially in 2012 for the INTERREG Inter-regional programme, IV-A (4-A) French-Swiss, and in 2016 for the INTERREG Inter-regional V (5).
