EUsalt welcomes two new members
Salinen Austria and Salrom join EUsalt’s European and global network of salt producers.
With origins going back to salt mining in Austria in the 15th and 16th centuries, Salinen Austria became a private company in 1997. The company has three production facilities in Austria and eight distribution centers in Central and Eastern Europe employing more than 500 people.
The state-owned Salrom, Romania’s sole edible salt producer, was founded in 1997 and has seven branches throughout the country. Its main products are rock salt solution, recrystallized salt and limestone.
Urs Ch. Hofmeier, President of the EUsalt Board of Directors, said, “We are glad to welcome Salrom and Salinen Austria to the EUsalt family and to strengthen our membership in Central and Eastern Europe. I look forward to working closely together to support our sector grow and innovate and to raise awareness of the many uses of salt and its importance for key industries such as the chemical and energy sectors."
